About the Role
As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving new business, identifying potential clients, and increasing revenue. This is a management-level position, reporting directly to the Iraq Managing Director. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to secure contracts, develop strategic plans, and ensure client satisfaction. If you have significant experience in the Iraqi engineering market and a strong track record in business development, we want to hear from you.
Main Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new clients and business sectors within Iraq’s engineering and construction markets.
- Analyze market trends, track competitor activities, and stay updated on industry developments.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve company growth objectives.
- Establish and nurture strong, long-term relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver professional presentations, proposals, and negotiate contracts.
- Collaborate with engineering, finance, and legal teams to create competitive proposals.
- Report regularly on sales activities, forecasts, and market performance to senior management.
- Meet sales targets and key performance indicators set with the Managing Director.
- Seek and cultivate partnerships or consortiums for large-scale or joint-venture projects.
- Ensure a high level of client satisfaction, supporting repeat business and referrals.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
- Minimum of 12 years’ experience in business development, ideally in the engineering or construction industries.
- At least 7 years of proven success in the Iraqi market.
- Demonstrated record of securing contracts and growing client portfolios.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel for business meetings and events.
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness.
- Self-motivated, driven, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
