What You’ll Do
As a Senior Plant Designer, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of advanced infrastructure for key defense programs. Your work will directly support the modernization of essential missile and launch systems, with a strong focus on 3D design and project coordination. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, balance technical challenges, and ensure robust, safe, and efficient designs.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Create and review 3D models for plant layouts, piping, HVAC, and equipment using Smart Plant S3D.
- Produce and check detailed engineering drawings, floor plans, and design documentation.
- Lead or coordinate groups of designers and drafters through all design stages.
- Support model activities, coordinate with engineers, construction teams, and suppliers.
- Conduct technical discussions with project stakeholders and resolve design challenges.
- Ensure all designs meet industry codes and standards such as OSHA, NFPA, ASME B31.3, and International Building Code.
- Prepare estimates, technical specifications, and contribute to constructability reviews.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience (choose the best fit for your background):
- Associate degree, technical certificate in Engineering/CAD, or equivalent.
- 7–14 years of relevant design experience, depending on your educational background.
Essential Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Smart Plant S3D.
- Deep knowledge of piping codes, building codes, and design standards.
- Ability to lead or coordinate a team and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Previous experience on Bechtel, DoD/DOE, USACE, NAVFAC, or USAF projects is highly valued.
Other Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory (Green Cards and TA Visas are not eligible).
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. government Secret Clearance.
